Free parking, honest math.

Find free parking near where you're going, and see whether a free spot plus a short walk beats paying for a garage or taking an Uber.

02 / Nobody referees

Parking apps sell garages. Rideshare apps sell rides.

Spotless referees. It puts free parking and walking, a paid garage, and a rideshare estimate side by side in dollars, including what your time is worth. It sells none of them, so it has no side to take.

"Typically the two rides with tip cost less than the $30 parking."

  • FREE

A free lot or street spot, plus the walk from it to the door.

  • PAID

The garage or the meter, at the rate you'd actually pay.

  • RIDE

An Uber or Lyft estimate for the trip. An estimate, never a quote.

03 / A real answer

Ryman Auditorium. Free won.

Search a show at the Ryman in Nashville and the card comes back with three prices. This is what it said.

  1. Free spot and a 4 minute walkwon in 99% of simulated scenarios ~$1
  2. Paid garageparking for the visit~$36
  3. Rideshareestimate, not a quote~$47

Park free and walk 4 minutes. That saves about $26 versus paying. Every number on the card opens up to show the math behind it.

04 / How it works

Three taps, then the math.

  1. 1

    Search where you're going.

Type a venue, an address or a business. The map flies there and lights up free, paid and street parking around it.

  2. 2

    Read the card.

Free spot plus walk, paid garage, or rideshare estimate, in dollars, with the best one on top and how often it won.

  3. 3

    Open it.

The math is right there: what it should cost, what the walk costs you in time, and the total door to door.

Your time counts. Literally.

There's a slider for what an hour of your life is worth. Slide it up and a long walk from a free spot starts to cost real money, so the answer can change.

Traffic is factored in too. When it's heavy near your destination, free spots are likelier to be taken, and that risk is priced into the card instead of left for you to find out.

05 / Covered, and not

A map you can check, with the gaps marked.

Every spot on the map is marked free, customer-only, paid or unknown. When a fee isn't known yet, the app says so instead of guessing.

  • a

    iPhone only, for now.

    There's no Android version yet.

  • b

    Rideshare prices are estimates.

They're modeled for the trip so you can compare. They are never quotes, and the ride app will have the final number.

  • c

    Many lots have unknown fees.

Community reports fill these in: one tap marks a spot as free or paid for the next driver.

  • d

    Check the posted signs.

Spotless never promises a spot is legal or guaranteed free. The sign on the pole wins.

It remembers the car. Not you.

Tap "I parked here" and Spotless keeps an eye on the clock, including the weekly street sweeping that turns a free spot into a ticket.
